Description

The Kamarne is a round recessed LED downlight in a satin nickel finish on an aluminium body, 8.8cm across at the face. Its head tilts within the bezel, so you can angle the light towards a picture, a shelf or a reading chair instead of pointing it straight down at the floor. The integrated LED draws 6W and gives 600 lumens of cool white light at 4000K, crisp and clear for seeing what you are doing. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors in dry rooms such as living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and studies, never bathrooms or outdoors.

Downlights work best in groups, and a run of these across a living room ceiling gives even, practical light while keeping the ceiling clear and uncluttered. The cool white suits rooms where you want to see clearly, such as a home office, a kitchen or a hallway, and the tilting head lets you wash a wall of framed prints with light or pick out a tall plant in a corner. Because it is dimmable, you can bring it down for a quieter evening. The satin nickel bezel sits neatly against a white ceiling and ties in well with brushed metal door handles and switch plates.

The body is aluminium, a light, rigid metal that draws heat away well, which suits an LED. The LED is integrated and not replaceable, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It has no switch of its own and is controlled from your wall switch, running on 220 to 240V mains. As a mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download.
