Description

The Kamarne is a square recessed LED downlight with a white aluminium body and a faceted silver reflector set in a round insert that tilts, so you can angle the beam where you want the light. The square plate is 8.8cm long and 8.8cm wide. The integrated LED draws 6W to give 450 lumens of warm white light at 2700K. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms.

Because the insert tilts, this downlight does more than light a floor. Fit a few in a line along a ceiling or a bulkhead, turn them towards a wall, and they will wash framed prints, a run of shelves or a textured plaster finish with a soft, warm glow. It suits living rooms, hallways, bedrooms and dining rooms, anywhere you would like a flush ceiling with no hanging shades. The 2700K tone is the cosy, golden white of evening lamplight, and because the light is dimmable you can lower the level for a quieter evening mood.

Spring clips hold it in the ceiling board, and the square plate sits over the edge of the hole for a neat, flush finish. There is no switch on the light; it is switched at the wall and runs on mains power at 220-240V, 50/60Hz. The LED is not replaceable, so there is never a bulb to buy, and it carries energy class E. Packed, it weighs 0.185KG. As a wired-in mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Before you order, check the ceiling void: it needs a 6.8cm cut-out and 4.2cm of recess depth, so measure twice and cut once.
