Description

The Kamarne is a set of three recessed LED downlights, each with a round satin nickel trim on an aluminium body. Every downlight is 8.8cm in diameter and holds an integrated 6W LED, giving 450 lumens of warm white light at 2700K, so the glow is soft and cosy rather than cool or clinical. Because the LED is integrated, there is no bulb to buy or replace. The rating is IP20, which settles where they belong: indoors and in dry rooms only, never a bathroom or the garden.

These downlights suit living rooms, hallways and bedrooms, anywhere you want even light from the ceiling without a pendant hanging low. Set in a row, the three trims sit close to the ceiling and look tidy on plain plaster, while the brushed satin nickel gives a soft metallic sheen that works with white or pale ceilings. Each inner ring tilts, so you can angle the beam towards a bookshelf, a picture on the wall or a favourite chair rather than leaving it fixed in one direction. That makes the set as useful for picking out a display as it is for general lighting. As they are dimmable, you can lower the level for a quiet evening and raise it when a room needs brighter light.

The bodies are aluminium, and each downlight is held in the ceiling by a pair of spring clips. Each one needs a cut-out 6.8cm in diameter and 4.2cm of recess depth, so measure the space in your ceiling before you order. They run on mains power at 220-240V and have no switch of their own, so you control them from the wall switch. A qualified electrician should install them, and the installation instructions come as a PDF download. Packed, the set weighs 0.499KG.
