Description

The Kamarne is a set of three round LED downlights in black. Each has an aluminium body and a tilting inner ring, so you can aim the light where it is needed. Each one is 8.8cm in diameter and carries its own integrated LED of 6W, giving 450 lumens per light at 2700K. That is a warm white that sits comfortably in rooms where you relax. The LED is integrated, so there is no separate bulb to buy. The IP rating is IP20, which settles where they belong: indoors, in dry rooms only.

Set into the ceiling of a living room, hallway, bedroom or study, three downlights give an even spread of light without a pendant hanging into the room. Because each head tilts, they work well for picking out a picture, a bookcase or a reading chair. The black trim makes a crisp ring against a white ceiling. They are dimmable, so with a suitable dimmer the same three lights can move from bright working light to a gentler evening level. They are switched at the wall like any ceiling light.

Each downlight needs a 6.8cm cut-out and 4.2cm of depth in the ceiling void, a shallow depth that helps where space is tight. Sprung clips on either side grip the ceiling to hold each light in place. The lights run on mains power at 220 to 240V and carry an energy class of E. Because they are wired into the ceiling, they are installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. Our practical advice: measure the depth of your ceiling void before you order, so all three fit first time.
