Description

The Kamarne is a set of three round LED downlights, each with a black trim and an aluminium body, made to sit recessed into a ceiling or the underside of a cabinet. Each light measures 8.8cm across and carries its own integrated 4.8W LED, giving 450 lumens of warm 2700K light, so there is no separate bulb to buy or change. They are rated IP20, which settles where they belong: indoors, in dry rooms, kept clear of splashing water.

Three matching lights spread an even wash across a run of worktop, a hallway or a small living room, and the black trim draws a crisp outline against a white ceiling or pale cabinetry. Set into the underside of kitchen wall cabinets, they throw light straight down onto the worktop where you chop and prepare food. The warm 2700K tone suits living rooms, bedrooms and landings too, where a cooler white can feel clinical. Because they are dimmable, you can run them bright for cooking and turn them down for a softer glow in the evening.

Each light needs a 6.8cm cut-out and 5.6cm of recess depth, and sprung clips at the side of each aluminium body hold it in place once it is pushed into the hole. There is no switch on the lights themselves; they are switched at the wall. They run on 220-240V mains at 50/60Hz and carry an energy class of E. As wired-in mains lights, they are installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. The set weighs 0.553KG packed. Before ordering, measure the void above your ceiling or the base of your cabinet to make sure there is 5.6cm of depth to spare.
