Description
The Kalythra is a 300mm-tall table lamp built around a cube of natural Spanish alabaster set diagonally on a crossed matte black metal base. The alabaster is cut with sharp, multi-plane facets so each face catches light differently, and the cube sits balanced on one corner above a pair of intersecting black bars. A G9 lamp holder is concealed inside the stone, with brass detailing at the junction between the alabaster and the metal structure.
At 300mm high and 160mm across, the Kalythra suits side tables, console tables, sideboards and bedside cabinets where a sculptural object is wanted alongside ambient light. The G9 socket accepts a low-wattage LED capsule (sold separately), making the lamp suitable as bedside reading-adjacent lighting, hallway console accent, or living-room corner glow rather than primary task light. The compact footprint fits surfaces from 250mm depth upwards.
The alabaster shows pronounced veining and tonal variation, with darker mineral bands running diagonally through the cube and lighter translucent sections towards the corners. When the lamp is lit, these density differences become more visible — the thinner faces glow warmly while the denser veining reads as shadow within the stone. Because each cube is cut from a different section of the quarry, no two Kalythra lamps share the same pattern of veining or facet brightness.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Kalythra uses a single G9 capsule bulb (sold separately). A warm-white LED G9 between 2.5W and 4W at 2700K-3000K works well, keeping heat low inside the alabaster cube while warming the natural tone of the stone.
Does each lamp look the same?
No. Each cube is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, dark mineral bands and translucency vary between pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect, and it becomes more pronounced when the lamp is illuminated.
Where is the on/off switch?
The lamp is supplied with an inline cord switch on the cable. Place the switch within easy reach of the surface the lamp sits on — typically against the back edge of a bedside table or console.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Wipe the alabaster gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid water, household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners — alabaster is porous and softer than marble, and liquid cleaners can stain or dull the surface.
