Description

The Java is a 565mm table lamp built around a tall frosted white glass cone shade mounted on a satin nickel rectangular base. A single E14 bulb fitting sits inside the glass, with the frosted surface diffusing light outward in a 360-degree spread. The lamp stands on a chrome post that runs vertically through the centre of the shade, connecting the base to a satin nickel cap at the top.

Designed for side tables, desks, consoles and bedside positions where ambient rather than task light is needed, the Java's narrow 106mm footprint allows it to sit on surfaces where space is limited. The 565mm height places the shade at a useful level for diffusing light across a sitting area or reading position without needing the bulb itself to be visible. The in-line switch on the cable allows the lamp to be turned on and off without reaching for a wall switch.

The frosted glass softens the light output and hides the bulb completely when viewed from any angle, making the lamp itself the light source rather than exposing a visible filament or LED element. The satin nickel finish on the base and top cap sits between polished chrome and brushed nickel in reflectivity, giving a low-sheen metallic accent that pairs with both warm and cool-toned interiors. The lamp accepts any E14 bulb up to the rating specified in the base (sold separately) and is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer and dimmable bulb.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable E14 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch or dimmer plug. The lamp itself does not include dimming circuitry — both the bulb and external dimmer must support dimming for this to work.

Where is the on/off switch?

The lamp has an in-line switch on the power cable, allowing it to be turned on and off without needing to reach a wall socket. The switch sits approximately 300mm from the base.

Is the glass shade removable for cleaning?

The frosted glass cone lifts off the base for cleaning or bulb replacement. Wipe the glass with a soft, barely-damp microfibre cloth and dry immediately to avoid water marks on the frosted surface.
