Description

The Jannik is a 150mm graphite wall light with an integrated 3.8W 3000K LED that casts light both upward and downward through clear acrylic lenses top and bottom. The graphite-finished metal housing wraps around the centre section, creating a horizontal band of shadow that divides the two beams and gives the light its architectural character when mounted on a flat wall.

Designed for external mounting on house walls, porch entrances, courtyard walls and covered terraces, the Jannik provides accent lighting rather than full illumination. The 3.8W LED output suits marking doorways, highlighting wall textures, or spacing along a fence line where multiple fittings create rhythm. The IP44 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashes, making it suitable for use in UK weather conditions under eaves, porches or other sheltered outdoor positions.

The graphite finish is a mid-tone grey with a powder-coated surface that resists corrosion in damp outdoor environments. The 102mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting compact enough for narrow walkways alongside garden walls or close to doors. The clear acrylic lenses at top and bottom remain transparent rather than frosted, so the light pattern stays defined and directional rather than diffused.

What does the IP44 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP44 protects against solid objects larger than 1mm and water splashes from any direction. The Jannik is suitable for use under eaves, porches, covered terraces and similar sheltered outdoor positions exposed to UK weather. It is not rated for full exposure to driving rain or submersion.

Does it provide enough light for a doorway?

The 3.8W output provides accent lighting rather than primary illumination. The Jannik works well to mark an entrance or highlight architectural features, but most doorways will need a higher-output fitting or additional lighting for functional visibility after dark.

Can the LED be replaced?

The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. LED service life is typically 25,000-50,000 hours depending on use, which equates to many years of daily operation.

Does it need a separate driver or transformer?

The Jannik runs directly from 230V mains with an internal driver. No external transformer is needed. Standard mains wiring to a switched spur or outdoor lighting circuit is all that is required.
