Description

A single spot head in white, compact enough to sit quietly along a run of track while still throwing a proper working beam. The LED and its driver are built in, so there is no lamp to buy and nothing to swap later. The light is cool white, tight rather than broad, giving 3850 lumens from 35W. It is not dimmable, so it comes on at full output each time.

We reach for heads like this where light has to land on something in particular: a painting, a shelf of glassware, the working end of a kitchen island, the back wall of an alcove. The narrow beam keeps spill off the surrounding walls, and once the head is angled it holds its aim. Kitchens, hallways, studies and studios all suit it, as do small shops and galleries where stock needs picking out. The cool tone renders colour crisply, which helps where people are cooking, drawing or reading rather than settling in for the evening.

The white body sits back against a pale ceiling and lets the beam do the talking, which is usually what is wanted from a spot. Keep it to dry rooms indoors. For cleaning, turn the power off at the circuit, let the head cool, then run a dry cloth over the housing and around the joint; nothing wet, nothing abrasive. It carries a five year warranty. We stock the same head in black if you would rather it disappeared against dark track, and both finishes are offered in a warmer white for living rooms and bedrooms. There is also a honeycomb cover in black, worth adding where a beam this tight might otherwise catch the eye.
