Description

The Knightsbridge OP94 is an IP66-rated outdoor 2-gang 13A socket with one USB-A and one USB-C charging port, housed in a high-impact polycarbonate enclosure with a smoked black locking lid. The socket provides two standard UK 3-pin outlets rated at 13A each on 230V mains, plus USB charging at a shared 5V DC 4.0A output (20W maximum combined across both ports). The IP66 rating confirms the enclosure is dust-tight and protected against powerful water jets from any direction, making it suitable for external installation in gardens, patios, workshops and covered outdoor areas.

The socket is installed surface-mounted onto an external wall or post using the built-in fixing points and multiple 20mm cable entry knockouts on the rear and base of the enclosure. The transparent smoked lid provides cable access while protecting the outlets from rain and debris, and includes a secure catch plus an optional padlock hole for additional security. Yes. The IP66 rating confirms the socket is protected against powerful water jets from any direction when the lid is closed. The socket can be installed on external walls, in gardens and on patios where it will be exposed to rain. The lid must be closed when outlets are not in use to maintain the IP rating.

What's the difference between IP66 and IP65?

IP66 provides protection against powerful water jets (12.5 litres per minute at 100kPa pressure), whereas IP65 protects against water jets at lower pressure. Can I use this to charge an electric bike or scooter?
