Description
The Knightsbridge WD12RGBW is a 12W recessed downlight with Wi-Fi control, RGB colour selection and adjustable white light from 3000K warm white to 6500K daylight. The integrated SMD LED array provides 1060 lumens output with a 100° beam angle, controlled via smartphone app or voice through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. IP44 rated for use in bathrooms and moisture-prone areas.
Designed for residential and hospitality installation, the downlight fits an 88mm ceiling cut-out with a minimum 120mm void depth above the ceiling. The aluminium and polycarbonate housing is IC-rated for direct contact with thermal insulation, and the Class II construction requires no earth connection. The opal diffuser softens the light and hides the LED array when the fitting is off.
The Wi-Fi connection operates on IEEE 802.11 b/g/n at 2.4GHz, allowing the downlight to be grouped with up to 100 other units in a single zone for simultaneous control. Scheduling, random on/off patterns for security simulation, and manual wall-switch override are all supported. The CCT adjustment allows the white light to shift from warm ambient tones at 3000K through to cool task lighting at 6500K, while the RGB mode provides full spectrum colour for mood or accent lighting.
The 110mm diameter white bezel projects just 2mm from the ceiling once installed, giving a flush appearance. The 45mm recessed depth and spring-clip retention system allow the fitting to be removed for lamp-free maintenance or redecorating. CRI >80 ensures accurate colour rendering in white modes, and the L70B50 rating of 54,000 hours indicates the LED array will maintain at least 70% of its original output after approximately six years of continuous use.

Frequently Asked
How is the downlight controlled?
The downlight connects to your home Wi-Fi network (2.4GHz only) and is controlled via a smartphone app available for iOS and Android. It also supports voice control through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. A manual wall switch can still be used to turn it on and off, but colour and brightness adjustments require the app or voice commands.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
Yes. The IP44 rating allows the downlight to be installed in Zone 2 or Zone 3 of a bathroom (outside the shower enclosure and not directly above a bath). The IP44 rating applies to the front face only — the rear is IP20, so moisture must not penetrate the ceiling void.
What void depth is needed above the ceiling?
A minimum 120mm void depth is required to accommodate the 45mm recessed depth of the fitting plus clearance for the driver and wiring. The fitting is IC-rated, so it can be in direct contact with thermal insulation without overheating.
How many downlights can be controlled together?
Up to 100 units can be grouped in a single zone or scene within the app, allowing all downlights in a room or across multiple rooms to be controlled simultaneously. Scheduling and random on/off patterns can be applied to individual lights or groups.
