Description

The Ios is a single-head adjustable wall spotlight with a cylindrical matt black head mounted on a rounded 60mm backplate. The head rotates through 330° on a brass-bushed joint, allowing light to be directed at artwork, shelving, architectural detail or reading positions. A GU10 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately) sits inside the cylindrical head, which acts as a directional shroud rather than a diffuser.

Designed for accent and task lighting in hallways, bedrooms, living rooms and galleries, the Ios pairs compact dimensions with directional control. The 110mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting clear of door swings and circulation zones, while the 60mm diameter means multiple units can be spaced 150-200mm apart along a corridor or above a bedside without visual clutter. The matt black finish absorbs light rather than reflecting it, keeping attention on the lit subject rather than the fitting itself.

The cylindrical head conceals the bulb completely from side views, preventing glare when walking past the fitting. The 330° rotation allows the beam to be angled upwards for wall-washing, downwards for floor-level accent lighting, or horizontally for picture lighting, but cannot rotate a full 360° due to the internal cable run. The backplate fixes to a standard UK wall box or surface mounts with two screws, and the GU10 socket accepts any standard GU10 LED, halogen or CFL bulb up to the fitting's maximum wattage.

The Ios takes a standard GU10 bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this with a GU10 LED between 4-7W and 2700K-4000K depending on whether the application is warm accent lighting or cooler task lighting. The fitting accepts any GU10 bulb up to the maximum wattage specified by Mantra.

Can the head rotate 360 degrees?

No. The head rotates through 330° on its joint, which allows directional control in almost any direction but stops short of a full rotation due to the internal cable run. This prevents the cable from twisting during adjustment.

Is the Ios dimmable?

The fitting itself is not dimmable. If dimming is required, pair the Ios with a dimmable GU10 LED bulb and install a compatible GU10-rated dimmer switch on the circuit. Compatibility depends on the specific bulb and dimmer models chosen.

How is it mounted?

The 60mm backplate either fixes directly to a UK wall box with two screws, or surface-mounts to plasterboard, brick or masonry with appropriate fixings. The compact backplate allows the fitting to sit close to the wall surface without a visible gap.
