Description
The Quoizel Inglenook is a 356mm semi-flush ceiling light with a hand-assembled Tiffany-style stained glass shade set in a valiant bronze frame. Two E27 bulbs inside the shade cast light through over 200 individually cut pieces of glass in sapphire blue, warm amber, cream and streaked green, arranged in an Art Deco geometric pattern that radiates from the central fitting point.
Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2-2.6m where a full pendant drop would hang too low, the Inglenock sits 203mm below the ceiling rose and provides ambient rather than task lighting. It suits hallways, bedrooms, dining rooms in period properties, and kitchens where the glass pattern adds visual interest to an otherwise plain ceiling plane. The 356mm diameter covers a standard UK ceiling rose and can be centred above a dining table, in an entrance hall, or in the middle of a bedroom without dominating the space.
Each glass piece is cut by hand, wrapped in copper foil, and soldered into the zinc frame using traditional Tiffany construction methods, so the exact colour placement and tonal variation differ slightly between individual fittings. The valiant bronze finish is a medium-tone bronze with subtle brown undertones that sit between the warmer copper-bronze and cooler gunmetal finishes, pairing well with both warm wood tones and cooler greys. The semi-flush mounting sits the shade close enough to the ceiling to work in rooms with 2.3m ceiling heights while still allowing the light to spread outward and downward rather than concentrating directly beneath the fitting.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Inglenook takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED bulbs at 6-10W and 2700K to bring out the amber and cream tones in the glass without overheating the shade.
What ceiling height is needed?
The fitting sits 203mm below the ceiling, so it works in rooms with ceiling heights as low as 2.3m without creating a head-knock risk. In rooms with 2.6-2.8m ceilings the semi-flush mount provides better light spread than a close-to-ceiling flush fitting would.
Is the glass pattern identical between fittings?
No. Each shade is hand-assembled from individually cut pieces of glass, so the exact placement of the sapphire, amber, green and cream sections varies slightly between fittings. The overall geometric pattern remains consistent, but the tonal distribution differs.
Can it be fitted on a sloped ceiling?
The Inglenook is designed for horizontal ceiling mounting only. The semi-flush canopy sits flush against the ceiling plane and does not include adjustable mounting hardware for sloped or angled ceilings.
