Description

The Kichler Imahn is a 902mm bar pendant light built around a rectangular frame made from matt black tubular steel with natural brass corner joints and sockets. Five E27 bulb holders sit inside the frame, each held by a natural brass lampholder that contrasts with the black surrounding pipework. The open frame design leaves the bulbs exposed, so the light source itself becomes part of the visual composition.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and bar counters where linear illumination is needed across a 1.5-2m surface, the Imahn hangs from two adjustable cables fixed to a rectangular black canopy. The cables can be shortened during installation to set a drop between 555mm minimum and 1245mm maximum, allowing the pendant to be positioned 700-900mm above a worktop or table depending on ceiling height. The 902mm width means the fitting suits tables seating 6-8 people or kitchen islands of similar length.

The natural brass components gain a deeper patina over time as the metal oxidises, while the matt black frame maintains a consistent finish. The combination of black tube with brass joints references industrial pipework and early 20th-century factory lighting without replicating period designs directly. Each E27 socket accepts bulbs up to 60W — most users pair this with five warm-white LED filament bulbs at 4-6W and 2200K-2700K to match the brass tone and create visible filament glow inside the frame.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs work best with the Imahn?

The five E27 sockets accept bulbs up to 60W each. LED filament bulbs at 4-6W in warm white (2200K-2700K) are the most common pairing, as the visible filament glow complements the brass fittings and the open frame design.

What table or island length does the 902mm width suit?

The Imahn works over dining tables seating 6-8 people (typically 1.6-2m long) or kitchen islands of similar length. For longer tables, two Imahn pendants can be installed in sequence.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The drop is adjustable only during installation by shortening the cables inside the canopy. Once the canopy is fixed to the ceiling rose, the drop is set and cannot be changed without removing the canopy and re-adjusting the cables.

Does the natural brass tarnish over time?

Yes. Natural brass oxidises and develops a deeper, darker patina over months and years of exposure to air. This is a characteristic of unlacquered brass. If a consistent bright finish is preferred, polished chrome or antique brass variants may be available in other Kichler ranges.
