The Iligan is a black metal candle holder with an open, faceted shape that is wider than it is tall. Fine black wires run from a narrow top out to a broad middle and back in to a narrow base, so the outline reads like two shallow bowls joined at the rim. It stands 15.5cm tall and 20cm in diameter, holds a pillar candle within its wirework, and lets the flame show through the gaps between the strands. The black finish is a deep, plain colour that sits comfortably beside wood, linen and stone.

This is a piece for indoors, at home on a coffee table, a side table, a sideboard or a deep windowsill in a living room, dining room or bedroom. At 20cm across it wants a little surface to itself, and at 15.5cm tall it stays low enough to sit in the middle of a dining table without getting between the people around it.
