Description

This stoneware mug carries a cheerful cartoon scene all the way round, with a grinning man in a red and white Santa hat at its heart. He sits in a soft mint green circle in a brown jacket, pale shirt and green striped tie, framed by black film strips and a scatter of red, green, white and gold stars, with a sparkling gold ornament top above his hat. Bold black capitals run along the base, reading 'Festive with' on one side and 'side of chaos' on the other. The handle and the inside are bright red, and the whole mug has a gloss finish that keeps the colours lively.

It holds 11oz, plenty for a morning coffee, an afternoon tea or a hot chocolate on a cold evening. At 9.8cm tall, 12cm wide and 8.5cm deep, it sits comfortably in the hand and fits neatly on a kitchen shelf, a mug tree or the corner of a desk at work. The film strips give it a touch of the cinema, so it feels at home beside the sofa on a film night with a bowl of popcorn. The Santa hat and the stars bring real cheer to the kitchen table, and the printed words raise a smile on the busiest of mornings.

Stoneware is a sturdy ceramic, and the gloss finish gives the mug a smooth, shiny surface. The red handle is a wide loop with room for your fingers, so a full brew is easy to hold. As good general care for a printed mug, a gentle hand wash in warm soapy water and a dry with a soft cloth help keep the colours bright. We think it makes a cheerful gift wrapped with a bag of good coffee or a favourite film, and it is just as happy brightening your own tea break when the house is at its most chaotic.
