Description

This off-white stoneware mug carries a sketched cat face on each side, with the words I CAT EVEN printed above one and PURRRFECT above the other. One cat comes from The Aristocats and the other from Pinocchio, both drawn in dark pencil-style lines over a warm grey wash, as though lifted from an animator's sketchbook. Small grey paw prints are scattered around the body, and the handle and inside are a soft grey that picks up the tones of the drawings. It stands 9.5cm tall, 14cm wide and 9.5cm deep, and holds 560ml, so there is room for a proper mug of tea or a generous milky coffee.

With a cheeky cat on one side and a sweet one on the other, it is a mug you can turn to suit your mood. That makes it a fun choice for the kitchen, the desk at home or the office tea round. We think it makes a cheerful gift for pet lovers, especially anyone who shares their home with a cat and likes a gentle joke over breakfast. It also sits happily among other cat-themed pieces on an open shelf or dresser, where the sketched faces and paw prints can be seen.

The mug is made from stoneware, a type of ceramic, and both designs are applied as a decal print on the off-white body, which has a soft sheen. The round body tapers gently towards the rim and sits on a neat grey foot, with a generous loop handle that is easy to hold. For care, we suggest washing it by hand in warm soapy water and drying it with a soft cloth, which is good practice for any decorated mug. Wrap it with a box of favourite teabags or a bag of fresh coffee beans for a small gift that will be used every day.
