Description

The Huntersfield is an outdoor chain pendant lantern with a tapered black aluminium frame, clear seeded glass panels, and a single E27 bulb fitting suspended inside. The seeded glass texture breaks up the light source, casting subtle patterns onto surrounding walls and diffusing the glow across porches, entrance canopies, and covered patios. The lantern body measures 178mm wide and 269mm tall, suspended on a black chain with adjustable drop from 374mm to 1920mm.

Designed for covered outdoor positions, the Huntersfield carries an IP44 rating, protecting against splashing water and solid objects above 1mm. This makes it suitable for porches, veranda ceilings, pergola beams, and entrance canopies where the fitting is sheltered from direct rain but exposed to damp conditions. The chain length allows the pendant to be set at head-clearance height under a standard 2.4m porch ceiling or dropped lower where ceiling heights allow. The lantern accepts any E27 bulb up to 60W, sold separately.

The black finish is applied to die-cast aluminium, giving the frame weather resistance and durability without the weight of traditional wrought iron. The seeded glass panels are set into a hinged door frame, allowing access to the bulb holder for lamp changes without dismounting the entire fitting. The tapered profile and pitched roof cap reference traditional coach lantern design but with simplified lines that sit comfortably against both period and contemporary architecture.

Can this be used in fully exposed outdoor positions?

The IP44 rating protects against splashing water but not direct rain streams or submersion. The Huntersfield is designed for covered positions such as porches, veranda ceilings, and entrance canopies where it is sheltered from direct rainfall but exposed to damp and moisture.

What bulb does it take?

The lantern takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to match the traditional lantern aesthetic.

How is the drop adjusted?

The chain length is 1524mm and can be shortened during installation by removing links. The minimum drop of 374mm is set by the canopy and chain hardware. The maximum drop of 1920mm includes the full chain plus the lantern body height.

How is the bulb changed?

The seeded glass panels are set into a hinged door frame on the lantern body. The door opens to allow access to the E27 bulb holder without needing to dismount the entire fitting from the ceiling.
