Designed for external doorways, garage entrances, covered porches and garden walls with overhead shelter, the Huntersfield's IP44 rating protects against rain splashes and dust ingress from above and the sides. The 335mm projection from the wall means the lantern sits clear of most door frames and provides forward-directed light across a threshold or path approach. The three-light configuration spreads illumination across approximately 180° of the lantern body, making the fitting visible and functional from multiple approach angles rather than acting as a single-direction spotlight.

The black finish on the aluminium frame resists corrosion in coastal and damp environments, while the brass internal components provide additional longevity where moisture might condense inside the lantern body. The seeded glass shows variation in bubble density across each panel, giving the lantern a hand-crafted appearance that pairs with both traditional brick and render facades and contemporary painted timber cladding. What bulbs does the Huntersfield take?

The lantern takes three E14 small Edison screw candle bulbs, each rated up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit LED candle bulbs between 4-6W in warm white (2700K-3000K) to replicate the appearance of traditional flame bulbs visible through the seeded glass.

Can this lantern be used in fully exposed locations?

The IP44 rating protects against rain splashes and dust from above and the sides, making it suitable for covered porches, door canopies and walls with eaves overhead. It is not rated for fully exposed positions with horizontal rain or submersion, such as unsheltered coastal walls or areas prone to pooling water.

What wall surface does it mount to?

The wall bracket is designed for fixing to brick, block, render or timber-clad walls using appropriate wall plugs and screws. The 335mm projection means the lantern sits clear of most standard door frames and窗台 ledges. Ensure the mounting surface can support the weight of the lantern plus the bracket.

Is the seeded glass replaceable if damaged?

The glass panels are part of the lantern assembly. Replacement glass is not sold separately by Hinkley, but the frame can be disassembled to access the glass if custom replacement is needed. Contact Hinkley or a specialist glazier for bespoke glass cutting if required.
