Description

The Huntersfield is a 444mm tall outdoor pedestal lantern housing two E14 candle bulbs behind clear seeded glass panels within a black aluminium and brass frame. The tapered lantern body sits on a circular pedestal base, topped with a pyramidal cap and turned finial. The seeded glass texture diffuses light from the two internal bulbs while maintaining visibility of the candle flame effect.

Designed for gate posts, driveway pillars, garden walls and patio balustrades, the pedestal format requires a flat mounting surface of at least 230mm diameter. The IP44 rating allows the lantern to handle rain and moisture exposure in UK weather conditions, making it suitable for year-round outdoor installation. The 229mm width and 444mm height suit standard residential gate post caps and low boundary walls between 900-1200mm height.

The black finish on the aluminium frame provides corrosion resistance and pairs with traditional, Victorian-style and classical architecture. The seeded glass adds visual texture when unlit and creates a stippled light pattern when the bulbs are on. The brass internal fittings resist outdoor corrosion and the turned finial at the top adds a period detail. Each of the two E14 sockets accepts bulbs up to 40W, giving flexibility to choose warm filament-style LEDs at 4-6W or traditional candles at higher wattages.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does it take?

The lantern takes two E14 small Edison screw candle bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional flame-effect appearance.

Can it be used in exposed coastal locations?

The IP44 rating handles rain and moisture but does not guarantee protection against salt spray in coastal environments. For coastal installation, regular cleaning of the glass and frame is recommended to prevent salt buildup and corrosion over time.

What surface does it mount to?

The pedestal base requires a flat horizontal surface at least 230mm in diameter, such as a gate post cap, pier cap or wall top. The base is fixed using screws through pre-drilled holes in the circular mounting plate.

How is the seeded glass cleaned?

The glass panels are removable for cleaning. Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soapy water, rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the seeded texture.
