This hummingbird trinket box shows a little green bird hovering at a pink-and-white lily, its long beak dipped into the flower as though caught mid-sip. It is made of metal and finished in glossy green, from the fine feather detail on the head and wings to the tall leaves rising from a rocky base. The bird has a soft white breast and an orange throat, its wing tips darken to brown, and tiny clear sparkling studs run across the crown, the wings and the gold-coloured rim of the lid, with pink ones edging the lily petals. It stands 14cm tall, 14cm across and 8cm deep.

The bird's back and wings form a hinged lid that lifts away to reveal a white inside, a small hiding place for a ring, a pair of earrings or a folded note. We think it looks lovely on a dressing table, a bedside table or a mantelpiece among family photographs, where the lily and the outstretched wings can be admired from every side.
