Huevo 6 Light Outdoor Semi-Flush Ceiling Light - Chrome/Opal White

The Huevo is a 900mm outdoor semi-flush ceiling light with six opal white glass domes arranged on a polished chrome backplate in an organic, asymmetric pattern. Each dome houses a single E27 bulb (sold separately), and the opal glass diffuses light evenly across covered outdoor spaces without harsh glare or visible filament shadows.

Designed for sheltered outdoor areas such as covered patios, pergolas, exterior porches and enclosed verandas, the Huevo carries an IP44 rating that protects against water splashes and solid objects larger than 1mm. The 210mm projection from the ceiling works in spaces with 2.4m or higher clearance, and the 590mm width suits areas where the light needs to cover a dining table, seating arrangement or walkway beneath a roof overhang.

The polished chrome plate reflects ambient daylight and creates a clean contrast against the soft white glass domes. Each dome is individually formed and fixed to the plate, giving the fitting a substantial 9.7kg weight that requires secure ceiling fixing into joists or concrete. The asymmetric arrangement of the six domes follows the natural form referenced in the name (huevo is Spanish for egg), with varying sizes that avoid rigid grid symmetry.

The Huevo accepts any standard E27 bulb up to the wattage specified in the Specification tab, allowing flexibility to choose warm white (2700K-3000K) for evening ambience or daylight tones (4000K+) for task-oriented outdoor areas. Dimming is supported if you pair the fitting with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit.

Can the Huevo be used in fully exposed outdoor areas?

No. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes and light rain but not direct weather exposure. The fitting must be installed under a roof overhang, pergola, covered patio or similar shelter that keeps it out of standing water and prolonged heavy rain.

What bulbs does it take?

The Huevo takes six E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair it with 6-10W LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for outdoor evening use. Check the Specification tab for the maximum wattage per socket.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, if you use dimmable E27 bulbs and install a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. The fitting itself does not include dimming electronics, so dimmer compatibility depends entirely on the bulbs chosen.

What ceiling fixing is required for the 9.7kg weight?

The 9.7kg weight requires secure fixing into ceiling joists, concrete or solid masonry. Plasterboard fixings alone are not sufficient. If the ceiling is timber-framed, locate joists and fix the backplate directly into them. For concrete ceilings, use appropriate masonry anchors rated for the load.
