The Hosorne is a linear pendant light that hangs three dome shades from one long black ceiling bar. Each shade is black steel and sits inside a slim ring of light brown wood, so the warm timber softens the dark metal and gives the fitting a gentle, natural look. It measures 93cm long, 23cm wide and 110cm high overall, which gives a clear sense of how much ceiling and drop it needs. Each shade takes an E27 bulb of up to 40W, and the bulbs are not included, so the choice of colour and brightness stays yours. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.

We think it is at its best over a dining table, where the three shades line up along the length of the table and light it from one end to the other. The same shape suits a kitchen island or a long breakfast bar just as well, anywhere a single pendant would leave the ends in shadow.
