Description
The Hood is a dark grey outdoor LED wall light with an adjustable square head that tilts on a cylindrical bracket to direct light along a facade, down onto a patio surface, or forward into a pathway. The integrated 12W LED produces 1100 lumens at 3000K, casting warm white light that reads clearly against brick, render and stone without the cooler tone typical of many outdoor LEDs.
Designed for building facades, covered patios, and external doorways, the Hood carries an IP65 rating for protection against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making it suitable for exposed positions on coastal properties and rain-facing walls. The tilting head allows the beam to be angled during installation, giving flexibility to highlight architectural details, wash light down a path, or illuminate a seating area without needing multiple fittings.
The dark grey powder-coated aluminium body measures 175mm wide by 86mm high with a 124mm projection from the wall once fitted. The angular profile and geometric square head contrast with traditional bulkhead lanterns and semicircular outdoor fittings, suiting contemporary builds, barn conversions and extensions where a cleaner-lined alternative to period-style outdoor lighting is needed. The non-dimmable LED has a rated lifespan of 25,000+ hours and draws 12W on 230V mains.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP65 rating mean for this outdoor light?
IP65 means the Hood is fully protected against dust ingress and can withstand water jets from any direction. It can be fitted on exposed exterior walls, under eaves, and in coastal locations where rain and sea spray are considerations.
Can the light direction be adjusted after installation?
Yes. The square LED head tilts on the cylindrical bracket, allowing the beam to be angled during or after installation. This lets you direct light along a wall, down onto a patio, or forward into a pathway depending on the position and purpose.
Is the LED replaceable if it fails?
The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The rated lifespan is 25,000+ hours, which equates to approximately 10 years of use at 7 hours per night. The fitting carries a 3-year warranty from Mantra.
What colour is 3000K, and is it bright enough for security lighting?
3000K is warm white, closer to the tone of a traditional halogen bulb than the cooler 4000K-6000K typical of security floodlights. At 1100 lumens the Hood provides functional pathway and entrance lighting rather than high-intensity security lighting. For pure security applications a higher-lumen, cooler-temperature fitting would be more appropriate.
