Hollis 3 Light Wall Light - Matt Black Clear Seeded Glass

The Hinkley Hollis is a 3-light bathroom wall light built around three clear seeded glass globes, each housed within a matt black metal frame with half-cap hoods. The 606mm horizontal bar mounts to the wall via a central circular backplate, with each globe positioned evenly along the bar. Each globe takes a single E14 bulb up to 40W (sold separately), with the seeded glass diffusing light while revealing the bulb filament when lit.

Designed for bathroom installation above mirrors or vanity units, the Hollis carries an IP44 rating, making it suitable for use in bathroom zones 2 and 3 where splashing may occur but direct water jets are not expected. The 193mm projection from the wall clears typical mirror depths, while the 230mm height sits comfortably above a 900mm-high mirror without blocking the reflection. The fitting also works in hallways, bedrooms and living rooms where wall-mounted task or accent lighting is needed.

The matt black powder-coated finish on the metal frame resists fingerprints and pairs cleanly with both modern and period bathroom fittings. The seeded glass texture is created during manufacture by rolling the molten glass over a textured surface, creating micro-bubbles and irregularities that scatter light and reduce glare compared to plain clear glass. The half-cap hoods over each globe reference Art Deco and mid-century lighting design while directing light downwards and outwards rather than straight into the eye.

What bulbs does the Hollis take?

The fitting takes three E14 small Edison screw bulbs, each rated up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle or golf ball bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for bathroom use.

Is it suitable for bathroom use?

Yes. The IP44 rating means the fitting is protected against splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3. This includes installation above mirrors, vanity units, or on walls adjacent to showers or baths, but not directly in the shower cubicle itself.

What is seeded glass?

Seeded glass contains deliberate micro-bubbles and texture created during manufacture by rolling molten glass over a textured surface. This scatters light, softens glare and gives the glass a vintage appearance while still allowing the bulb filament to be visible when lit.

Can it be installed horizontally only?

The Hollis is designed for horizontal installation with the bar parallel to the floor. Vertical installation would place the globes one above another and may compromise the IP44 rating if water could pool on the upper fittings.
