The Hinanne is a slim round LED downlight that sits flush against the ceiling, with a black steel rim around a white plastic diffuser. It measures 28.5cm across and just 3cm deep, so it keeps a low profile even under a lower ceiling. The integrated LED draws 20.5W and gives 2,400lm of warm 3000K light, a generous amount for a single fitting. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected from splashing water, so it can live outdoors as well as in the house.

We like it most where a bright, plain ceiling light has to cope with damp air or the odd splash of rain. A covered porch, a balcony or a sheltered terrace suits it well, and the light comes from the whole face of the diffuser rather than a single point.
