Description
The Himalaya Mini is a 530mm ceiling fan light with retractable blades that fold into a concentric metal cage when the fan is switched off, integrated 70W LED lighting with tuneable colour temperature (2700-5000K), and a DC motor controlled by remote. The matt black finish covers both the outer cage structure and the ceiling-mount housing, giving the fitting a continuous appearance from below.
Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and home offices with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Himalaya Mini provides both ambient lighting and airflow in a single ceiling fitting. The LED panel sits behind the fan mechanism and outputs 4900lm through a 120° beam angle, diffusing light through the gaps in the retractable blades when they're deployed. The colour temperature adjusts between warm 2700K and daylight 5000K using the remote control, allowing the light to shift from evening warmth to task-focused brightness depending on time of day.
The DC motor drives the retractable blades at variable speeds, pulling room air upwards and distributing it horizontally across the ceiling plane to equalise temperature without creating a direct draught on occupants below. When the fan is switched off, the blades retract into the metal cage structure, leaving the fitting compact at 177mm projection from the ceiling. The remote control adjusts fan speed, light brightness and colour temperature independently, removing the need for wall-mounted controls or smartphone apps. The matt black powder-coated metal cage adds 2.7kg of mass, requiring secure fixing to a ceiling joist or reinforced plasterboard anchor.

Frequently Asked
How does the retractable fan mechanism work?
When the fan is switched on via the remote, the blades deploy outwards from the central hub and begin rotating. When switched off, the blades retract back into the circular metal cage structure, leaving the fitting compact at 177mm projection. The motor is a DC type, so blade deployment and retraction happen smoothly without mechanical noise.
Is it dimmable?
Yes. The integrated 70W LED is fully dimmable using the included remote control. The remote also adjusts colour temperature between warm 2700K and daylight 5000K, allowing the light to shift from evening ambiance to task-focused brightness.
What ceiling height is needed?
The 177mm projection suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Lower ceilings can accommodate the fitting if headroom clearance of at least 2.1m is maintained when the fan blades are deployed.
How is it installed?
The Himalaya Mini weighs 2.7kg and requires fixing to a ceiling joist or a reinforced plasterboard anchor rated for at least 5kg. It connects to standard UK mains (220-240V) and does not require a wall-mounted fan controller. All functions are managed by the remote control.
