Description

The Heronwell semi-flush is a wide dish flush ceiling light, 590mm across and only 223mm deep, with three pebble shaped glass pieces sitting beneath a shallow metal dish. The dish is finished in gold and bronze, warm metal tones that work together rather than competing, and the pebble glass breaks the light into soft, uneven pools instead of one flat wash. At 1.8kg it is light for a fitting of this diameter, and the shallow depth means it stays well clear of heads in a low room.

The width and the shallow depth make this a natural choice for a bedroom, a landing or a hallway with a ceiling under about 2.4 metres, where 590mm of dish covers a lot of ground without hanging into the room. We would also use it in a dining room with a low ceiling, centred over the table. It suits anyone who wants the warmth of gold and bronze without a pendant drop, and it works in a cottage with beams overhead.

The dish and pebble mounts are metal in gold and bronze, with pebble shaped glass diffusers below. Three G9 LED lamps of around 3W each light it, and this one is not dimmable, so wire it to a standard switch. Dust the dish with a dry, soft cloth and wipe each glass pebble by hand once the lamps are cool, keeping sprays away from the lampholders. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms, and as a Class 2 fitting it is double insulated and needs no earth. Heronwell also comes as an extra large pendant, a linear pendant and a table lamp.
