Description
The Henorne is a tripod floor lamp with a broad dome shade, black on the outside and lined in gold, held in a curved yoke above three black legs. Brass fittings sit at the head of the tripod and part way down each leg, where a slim brass brace joins the three together, so the lamp reads as black, brass and gold from every side. It is built from wood and steel, stands 164cm tall and measures 55cm in diameter. The shade takes one E27 bulb of up to 60W, and the bulb is not included, so the colour and warmth of the light are yours to choose. It is rated IP20, which settles where it lives: indoors, in a dry room.
Because the shade tilts in its yoke, you can turn it towards the ceiling for a gentle wash of reflected light, or angle it down over a reading chair or the end of a sofa. The gold lining catches the light and glows whenever the bulb is lit, which gives a corner real warmth in the evening. It suits a living room, a study, a loft-style space or a roomy bedroom, anywhere with clear floor for a tripod. At 55cm in diameter it does want a little room around it, and in return it fills an empty corner with genuine presence.
Day to day, a switch on the cord turns the lamp on and off without reaching beneath the shade, and the knobs on either side of the yoke let you fix the angle you want. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz, standard household mains. The packed weight is 4.941KG, worth knowing before you lift the box. The black of the legs and outer shade sets off the brass and gold detail. The installation instructions come as a download, so you can read them through before you start.
