Description
The Helion is a 115cm LED picture light with an integrated 20.5W LED strip behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser, set within a powder-coated white aluminium frame. The LED emits 3000K warm white light, designed to illuminate artwork, large prints, or framed mirrors without creating hotspots or shadows across the surface. The fitting projects 40mm from the wall and is rated IP20 for indoor dry locations.
Mounted above or below a frame, the Helion suits gallery walls, living room feature displays, hallway art collections, and bedroom accent lighting. The 115cm length covers artworks up to approximately 100-110cm wide, with even light distribution across the full width of the piece. Installation requires a surface-mounting bracket and connection to a wall-mounted switch or fused spur — the fitting is not dimmable, so pairing with a standard on/off switch is recommended.
The powder-coated aluminium base provides a lightweight, corrosion-resistant structure that remains stable under continuous use. The opal polycarbonate diffuser softens the LED output and hides the individual diodes from direct view, creating a continuous band of light rather than visible points. The white finish integrates into light-coloured walls and ceilings without drawing attention away from the artwork itself. At 20.5W the fitting consumes less energy than halogen picture lights while delivering comparable lumen output, and Ideal Lux backs the LED module with a 5-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
Can this picture light be dimmed?
No. The integrated LED is not dimmable. Connect the fitting to a standard on/off wall switch or fused spur rather than a dimmer module.
What size artwork does the 115cm length suit?
The 115cm light bar suits artworks up to approximately 100-110cm wide. For smaller frames, Ideal Lux produces shorter versions of the Helion in 60cm and 80cm lengths.
Where should the light be mounted relative to the artwork?
Picture lights are typically mounted above the top edge of the frame, angled downward to wash light evenly across the surface. Some users mount below the frame for upward illumination of textured or relief artwork. The 40mm projection allows clearance for most standard frames.
Is the LED replaceable?
The LED module is integrated into the fitting and is not designed for user replacement. The 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux covers the LED against failure during normal use, and the expected service life exceeds 25,000 hours.
