Description

Twelve holes run the length of this shallow white rectangle, so a row of pendant flexes can be brought together on one plate rather than scattered about a ceiling. The profile is slim and the face is plain, with no beading or pattern to pull the eye away from the lights hanging below. It is non-electrical, which means the flexes, cord grips and lampholders are chosen to suit whatever pendants you have in mind.

We reach for it where a line of small pendants is wanted above a dining table, a kitchen island or a long bar counter, and it works just as happily along a hallway or over a stairwell landing. Because the holes sit in a measured row, the drops fall parallel and evenly spaced, which is the difference between a cluster that looks planned and one that looks improvised. Keep it to dry rooms, away from steam and splashing, and give yourself a little thought about drop lengths before the flexes are cut.

The plate is finished in a flat white that reads quietly against a pale ceiling, and the shallow depth keeps it low and unfussy once the pendants are in place. Dust settles on the upper face more than anywhere else, so an occasional pass with a dry cloth is all it asks; solvents and scouring pads will mark the finish and are best left in the cupboard. It carries a one year warranty. We also stock the compression cord grips in white, black and clear, and the metal cable grip kits in finishes from polished chrome and satin nickel through to antique brass and gilt bronze, so the visible parts of the drop can be matched or deliberately contrasted.
