Description

A slim satin nickel rectangle with an undrilled face, this is the plate to reach for when the hole positions want setting out to your own drawing rather than ours. At 1100mm by 400mm it reads as a long, low band across the ceiling, shallow enough to look like part of the plaster rather than a box sitting beneath it. The satin nickel is soft and low in shine, a grey with a little warmth in it, and it holds its own beside brushed brass or blackened steel drops without fighting them.

It comes into its own over long surfaces: a kitchen island, a dining table with more chairs than usual, a meeting room, a hotel reception desk. Gathering several drops onto one plate keeps the ceiling calm and lets the pendants themselves do the talking, whether in a straight run or staggered along the length. We tend to point people towards the undrilled version when the pendant spacing has already been worked out on paper, or when a new arrangement has to line up with something already in the room. It suits anyone putting a light together from parts rather than buying it whole.

The plate is pressed iron, which gives it the rigidity to stay flat across its length, with the satin nickel finish applied over that. Care is a dry cloth and nothing more: no detergents, no sprays, and nothing coarse, since scouring will dull the nickel quickly. Keep it to dry indoor rooms, away from bathroom steam and anywhere it might be splashed. It carries a one year warranty.
