Hayes No-Hole Linear Ceiling Plate 10cm Wide 110cm Long - White

A long, slim white bar for the ceiling, this plate gives a single tidy line for pendant drops to gather along. It measures 110cm end to end and 10cm across, with a shallow profile that sits close to the ceiling and reads as part of it rather than as hardware. The face is blank rather than pre-pierced, so the spacing of the drops is decided by the job and not by the plate. It carries no lamp and no wiring of its own; it is the base a lighting arrangement is built on.

We reach for one of these where a row of pendants needs to run in a straight line over a dining table or a kitchen island, rather than scattering separate points across the ceiling. The same trick works down a hallway or above a long console, and it suits open-plan rooms where you want the light held low over a worktop and the ceiling kept quiet. White keeps it discreet against a pale ceiling, and it is meant for dry rooms indoors on an ordinary household supply.

Finished in flat white across the visible face, it is a plain length with nothing on it to catch the eye. For cleaning, run a dry duster along it when you dust the room; marks come off with a barely damp cloth, dried straight after, and abrasive creams or solvents are best kept away from white paint. What size is the plate?

It is 1100mm long, 100mm wide and 25mm deep, so it stays shallow against the ceiling while giving a generous run for pendants to be spaced along.

Does it come with holes already made?

No. This is the no hole version, supplied with a blank face so the drop positions can be set to suit the pendants you are using.

Is it an electrical item?

It is not. The plate is non-electric and takes no lamp, so the lamp type is decided by the pendants it serves.

What is the weight?

Around 1.52kg, which makes it easy to handle on your own while positioning it.

Is it suitable for a bathroom or outdoors?

It is rated IP20, so keep it to dry indoor rooms such as kitchens, dining rooms, hallways and bedrooms.
