Description

The Hasanne is a fabric pendant light with a wide drum shade in taupe, lined in gold, hanging on a slim cable from a round ceiling canopy in satin nickel. The body is steel, and the shade measures 38cm in diameter, with the light measuring 110cm high overall. It takes a single E27 bulb up to a maximum of 60W. The bulb is not included, which leaves you free to choose the colour of light you like best. It is rated IP20, which settles where it lives: indoors, in dry rooms such as a living room, dining room or bedroom.

The gold lining is the part most people do not notice until the bulb is lit. Then the inside of the drum takes on a warm, golden glow and casts that warmth onto whatever sits beneath it, while the taupe fabric softens the light that reaches the rest of the room. Hung over a dining table, it gives a focused, welcoming light for meals and long conversations. In a living room or bedroom, it reads as calm and neutral by day and cosy by night. Taupe sits happily alongside wood, cream, grey and brass, so it suits anyone who prefers a warm, understated room to a bright, cool one.

The steel body carries a satin nickel finish on the round canopy, a soft, muted silver that sits quietly beside the gold inside the shade rather than competing with it. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall, so it runs from the room's existing light switch. As a mains light wired into the ceiling, it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a PDF download. It weighs 1.23KG packed. Before it arrives, pick up an E27 bulb of 60W or less, so the light is ready to use from the first evening.
