Description

This black and gold wall banner lays out the full Hogwarts school list from the world of Harry Potter, printed in gold beneath the school crest and two wands. The list runs in three sections. Uniform calls for plain black work robes, one plain pointed hat for day wear, one pair of protective gloves in dragon hide or similar, and one winter cloak with silver fastenings. Then comes the Book List, and finally Other Equipment: one wand, one telescope, a pewter cauldron in standard size 2, brass scales and glass or crystal phials. Small reminders sit between the sections, from name tags on every pupil's clothes to the rule that first years are not allowed their own broomsticks, and there is a note that students may also bring an owl, a cat or a toad. It measures 100cm tall, 38cm wide and 1cm deep.

At a metre tall and slim in width, it suits a narrow stretch of wall: beside a bookcase, above a desk in a study, at the end of a hallway or on a bedroom wall. It hangs from a cord looped to both ends of a slim rod across the top, so a single hook or nail is all it needs. The black ground and gold print sit well with dark wood shelves and a row of well-loved books.

The rod keeps the top edge straight, and a gold tassel hangs from one corner beneath a round gold-coloured disc stamped with an H. The lower edge comes to a point and is finished with a long black fringe. Hang it out of strong direct sunlight to keep the gold print bright, and dust it now and then with a soft dry cloth. It comes ready to hang with its cord in place, so as a gift it can go straight up on the wall.

Frequently Asked

How big is the Hogwarts school list banner?

It measures 100cm tall and 38cm wide and is 1cm deep. That makes it a good fit for a narrow stretch of wall beside a bookcase or above a desk.

How does the wall banner hang?

A cord is looped to both ends of a slim rod across the top. It hangs from a single hook or nail, and the cord comes already in place.

What colours is the banner?

It is black with gold print. A gold tassel and a round gold-coloured disc hang at one corner, and a black fringe runs along the pointed lower edge.

What does the school list on the banner say?

It sets out the Hogwarts uniform, a book list and other equipment. The equipment runs from one wand and one telescope to a pewter cauldron, brass scales and glass or crystal phials.

How should I look after the banner?

We suggest dusting it gently with a soft dry cloth now and then. Hanging it away from strong direct sunlight helps keep the gold print looking bright.
