This gold Dobby figurine shows the much-loved elf standing on an oval base, one hand on his hip and the other holding up a sock. His wide, pointed ears, large round eyes, long nose and the folds of his draped cloth are all modelled in fine detail. The front of the base carries his name in raised letters, 'Dobby' the Elf, and printed lettering runs round the top, telling how elves possess powerful, wandless magic and loyally serve a wizarding family. Made from polystone resin, he stands 17cm tall, 14.5cm across and 10cm deep.

At 17cm tall he fits neatly on a bookshelf, a desk or a mantelpiece, and the base lets him stand on his own, so he needs no wall or bracket. The gold finish catches the light beside a row of books or a lamp, and he looks just as at home in a reading nook or a study as among other favourites on a shelf. Because the lettering runs right round the top of the base, he is best placed where it can be seen, at eye level or a little below.
