This wooden street plaque brings the famous Diagon Alley sign from the Harry Potter stories into your home, styled like an old-fashioned street name board. A black face carries DIAGON ALLEY in tall gold capitals, set inside a raised gold frame with neatly notched corners. Beneath it hang three smaller boards with rounded, shaped ends, reading LEAKY CAULDRON, KNOCKTURN ALLEY and GRINGOTTS BANK, each beside a little pointing hand that sends you on your way through the wizarding shopping street. The piece is 30cm wide and just 1cm deep, finished in black and gold, with a metallic effect on the gold that catches the light.

Hang it on a bedroom door, along a hallway or above a bookshelf and an ordinary corner of the house becomes a stop on the way to Gringotts. Short black chains link each board to the next, and a longer loop of chain at the top lets the whole sign hang from a single hook or nail, with the three direction boards falling in a neat column below the main name. At only 1cm deep it sits close to the wall or door, which suits a narrow landing or passageway where anything bulkier would get knocked. The black and gold looks as good against dark paint as on a pale wall, and it sits happily in a study, a reading corner or a games room.
