Description

The Harper is a 366mm semi-flush ceiling light with three E27 bulb fittings housed inside a clear seeded glass drum shade, held by a polished chrome frame with three curved arms rising from a circular ceiling plate. The seeded glass texture creates hundreds of tiny bubbles trapped in the glass during manufacture, scattering light into soft patterns across walls and ceilings while still allowing clear visibility of the bulbs inside.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m-2.5m where a full pendant would hang too low, the Harper sits 253mm down from the ceiling, providing ambient light without head clearance issues. The semi-flush format suits hallways, bedrooms, and dining rooms with lower ceilings. The three E27 sockets accept standard bulbs up to 60W each, giving flexibility to choose warm filament-style LEDs for softer ambient light or daylight-temperature bulbs for task-focused rooms.

The polished chrome finish on the ceiling plate, arms and metal ring binding the glass gives a high-reflective surface that amplifies light output and pairs well with chrome taps, door furniture and radiator valves in kitchens. The opal glass disc at the base of the shade diffuses downward light to reduce glare when viewed from below. Decorative knobs on the chrome ring add period detailing that references early-20th-century factory and public building fixtures without pastiche.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does the Harper take?

The Harper has three E27 sockets, each rated for bulbs up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED filament bulbs between 6-8W and 2700K for ambient bedroom or hallway lighting.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The 253mm drop from ceiling to base suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m-2.5m where a full pendant would hang too low. In rooms with 2.4m ceilings, the base of the fitting sits at approximately 2.15m, leaving comfortable head clearance.

What is seeded glass?

Seeded glass is clear glass with tiny air bubbles trapped inside during manufacture, creating a texture that scatters light without blocking visibility of the bulbs. The bubbles create soft shadow patterns on walls and ceilings when lit.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. It has no stated IP rating, so it is for dry rooms only.
