Description

The Harper is a 400mm diameter flush ceiling light with a clear seeded glass shade held within a polished chrome drum frame. Three E27 bulb holders sit inside the glass, which is sandwiched between two polished chrome bands—one at the ceiling mount, one at the lower rim. Knurled adjustment knobs on each side of the drum add a functional retro detail to the polished chrome finish.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower, the Harper provides ambient light without dropping below the ceiling plane. The 159mm projection makes it suitable for hallways, bedrooms, compact kitchens and bathrooms (if rated IP44—see Specification tab), where a pendant would intrude into the space. The seeded glass diffuses the light from the three bulbs, softening the output while maintaining sufficient brightness for general room lighting.

The polished chrome finish reflects both natural and artificial light, adding a metallic accent to the ceiling that pairs with chrome taps, door handles and radiators in bathrooms and kitchens. The clear seeded glass shows subtle air bubbles and texture variation across the surface, giving the fitting a handmade glass appearance despite being mass-produced. Each bulb position takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately), allowing you to choose LED, filament or halogen depending on the light quality and colour temperature you need.

What bulbs does it take?

The Harper takes three E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, each up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this fitting with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient room lighting.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 159mm projection from the ceiling makes this fitting suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower, where a pendant would drop too far into the space.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

Only if the fitting carries an IP rating (check the Specification tab). If no IP rating is listed, the Harper is suitable for dry locations only—bedrooms, hallways, living rooms and kitchens where steam exposure is minimal.

What does 'seeded glass' mean?

Seeded glass contains small air bubbles deliberately introduced during the glassmaking process. The bubbles diffuse light more than clear glass, softening the output from the bulbs and giving the fitting a vintage hand-blown glass appearance.
