Description
This little hanging decoration sets a perched bird on top of a pinecone, a cheerful woodland pairing for the Christmas tree. The bird sits with its tail cocked high, dressed in warm brown across its head, back and wings, with a cream breast, a pale cheek patch, a small dark beak and bright black eyes. Beneath it, the brown pinecone is made up of rows of rounded scales that overlap like the real thing, and a sprig of green holly leaves with three red berries sits at its shoulder. At 15cm, it is a generous size for a tree ornament.
Hang it from a branch near the front of the tree, where the holly berries add a bright spot of red against the green. It sits just as happily on a wreath in the hall, along a mantelpiece garland, from a window catch or on a bare branch set in a jug. The earthy browns and creams suit a rustic, woodland scheme with pinecones, dried orange slices and red ribbon. As a small Christmas gift, it slips easily into a stocking, or you can tie it to the ribbon of a wrapped present as a little extra that ends up on the tree.
A hanging loop is fixed at the top, between the bird's head and its tail, so the decoration hangs upright with the bird looking out from its perch. The textured finish gives the bird and pinecone a cosy, rustic look that reads well against the needles. To care for it, dust it gently with a soft dry brush or cloth, keep it away from damp, candles and heat, and wrap it in tissue in a box between Christmases so the scales and holly keep their shape. Hang it where the red berries can catch the eye, and it will bring a touch of the woodland indoors each December.

How does the decoration hang?
It has a hanging loop fixed at the top, between the bird's head and its tail. You can slip it over a branch, a hook or a length of ribbon.
What colours is it?
The bird is warm brown with a cream breast and a pale cheek patch, and the pinecone is brown. A sprig of holly adds green leaves and red berries.
Does it make a good Christmas gift?
Yes, it makes a lovely small Christmas gift or stocking filler. You can also tie it to a wrapped present as a little extra that ends up on the tree.
Can I use it somewhere other than the tree?

How should I look after it?
Dust it gently with a soft dry brush or cloth, and keep it away from damp, candles and heat. Store it wrapped in tissue in a box between Christmases.
