Description
This handmade tall pumpkin decoration is woven from natural rattan into a slender, gourd-like pumpkin with a twisted rattan stalk at the top. Around the stalk sits a generous cluster of autumn colour: orange, red and golden yellow maple leaves, sprigs of round orange berries, a little orange pumpkin and a pine cone. The body is an open weave of brown rattan strands with plaited ribs running from top to bottom, so it looks light and airy rather than solid. It stands 20cm tall and measures 15cm across and 15cm deep, a compact size that suits a shelf as easily as a table.
It sits on its own rounded base and needs no hook or wall, so it can go wherever you want a warm note of autumn. We like it on a mantelpiece, a hall table or a deep windowsill, or at the centre of a dining table, compact enough to talk over. Its tall, narrow outline gives it a little more height than a round pumpkin, and the orange leaves and berries bring a welcome glow of colour to a neutral room or a wooden sideboard.
Being handmade, the rattan weave has a natural, slightly irregular look, with the plaited ribs and fine strands giving it plenty of texture. To look after it, dust it gently with a soft dry brush or cloth, keep it indoors away from damp and strong sunlight, and keep it well clear of candles, fires and other heat. At the end of autumn, store it somewhere dry and it will be ready to bring out again next year. Set it beside a stack of books or a bowl of apples for an easy seasonal corner, or give it as a gift to anyone who loves dressing their home for autumn.

It stands 20cm tall and measures 15cm across and 15cm deep. That makes it a comfortable fit for a shelf, a mantelpiece or a small side table.
What is it made of?
The body is handmade from natural rattan. It is woven into an open pumpkin with plaited ribs and a twisted rattan stalk at the top.
