Description
This is a halogen oven bulb: a small clear-glass lamp with a rounded top and an E14 cap, the small Edison screw. It is 5cm long and 2.2cm in diameter, draws 15W and gives 85lm of warm white light at 2200K. Through the clear glass you can see the halogen filament, so the light comes out crisp and direct rather than softened by frosting. It carries an IP20 rating, which settles it as a bulb for dry places indoors, such as inside an oven, and never anywhere near water.
It is the bulb to reach for when the oven light has gone and you want to check on dinner again without opening the door and losing heat. At 85lm the glow is modest, but it is enough to show how a crust is browning or a sauce is bubbling, and the very warm 2200K tone gives the oven a familiar golden cast. Before ordering, check that your oven takes an E14 cap and a 15W lamp; the oven's handbook or the old bulb will usually say.
The bulb runs on mains of 220 to 240V at 50 or 60Hz and weighs 0.011KG packed. The cap is a silver-toned metal screw thread that twists into a standard E14 holder, and the glass is clear rather than frosted. Wipe the glass with a soft, dry cloth only when the bulb and the oven are cold, since grease on the glass dulls the light. It is worth keeping a spare in the kitchen drawer, so a failed oven light never leaves you cooking in the dark.

Frequently Asked
Will this bulb fit my oven?
It has an E14 small Edison screw cap and is rated at 15W, so it suits an oven light holder that takes an E14 cap and a 15W lamp. Your oven's handbook or the markings on the old bulb will usually confirm both.
How bright is the light?
It gives 85lm from 15W, a modest glow that is plenty for checking food through the oven door, and the colour temperature is a very warm 2200K.
What size is the bulb?
It is 5cm long and 2.2cm in diameter, a compact pygmy shape with a rounded clear-glass top and a metal screw cap.
What does the IP20 rating mean for this bulb?
IP20 means it belongs in dry places indoors, such as inside an oven, and it should never be used anywhere near water.
Which mains voltage does it need?
It runs on mains of 220 to 240V at 50 or 60Hz and draws 15W whenever it is lit.
How should I clean the glass?
Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth only when the bulb and the oven are cold, since grease on the glass dulls the light.
