Description

The Halleron is a 489mm outdoor wall lantern built around a seeded glass sphere held inside a grey metal cage with decorative bands at the equator and crown. Two E14 candle bulbs (sold separately) sit inside the sphere behind the seeded glass, which diffuses light outward in all directions while maintaining visibility of the bulb filaments. The scrolled arm extends 318mm from the wall and supports the lantern on a turned finial.

Designed for external walls at front doors, garage sides, and covered patios, the Halleron carries an IP44 rating for splash resistance from rain and garden watering. The rating makes it suitable for locations under eaves, canopies or porch roofs but not for fully exposed positions with no overhead shelter. The 254mm-wide lantern suits standard-height residential walls and can be mounted singly at a door or in pairs flanking an entrance or garage.

The grey finish on the metal frame has a low-sheen appearance with slight bronze undertones visible where the finish is thinner on raised details, giving the lantern a weathered rather than freshly-painted look. The seeded glass contains small bubbles and irregularities throughout, adding visual texture when the lantern is lit and softening the light output compared to clear smooth glass. The fitting accepts any standard E14 candle bulbs up to 40W each, allowing choice of warm-white LED, clear filament LED, or traditional halogen depending on desired brightness and colour temperature.

Can this be used in fully exposed positions?

The IP44 rating provides splash resistance but not full weatherproofing. The Halleron is suitable for covered locations such as under eaves, porch roofs or canopies. For fully exposed walls with no overhead shelter, a fitting rated IP65 or higher would be more appropriate.

What bulbs does it take?

The lantern takes two E14 small Edison screw candle bulbs, each up to 40W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a warm traditional glow.

What is seeded glass?

Seeded glass contains small bubbles and irregularities distributed throughout the glass during manufacturing. This gives the glass a handmade appearance and diffuses light more softly than smooth clear glass, reducing harsh shadows and glare from the bulb filaments.

How is it mounted to the wall?

The backplate measures approximately 150mm high and is fixed to the wall with two screws through mounting holes. Standard outdoor-rated cable enters through a central gland in the backplate. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician to ensure IP rating is maintained.
