Description

The Hadley is a 356mm flush ceiling light with three E27 bulb sockets housed behind an etched opal glass diffuser, set within a stepped brushed bronze frame. The 140mm fitting height from ceiling to base suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2-2.6m where a pendant would hang too low, making it a practical choice for hallways, landings, bedrooms and bathrooms.

The IP44 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3 — areas more than 600mm from a shower head or bath edge. The etched opal glass diffuses light from the three bulbs into a soft, even spread across the ceiling and upper walls, reducing harsh shadows without creating glare. The stepped bronze frame wraps around the glass in concentric rings, giving the fitting a drum-like profile that references mid-century and art deco ceiling lights.

The brushed bronze finish has a warm, slightly antiqued tone that pairs with brass door furniture, aged copper taps and warm-toned timber trim. The metal frame is die-cast and finished by hand, so tonal variation between batches is normal. Each E27 socket accepts bulbs up to 40W, giving a combined 120W maximum load — typically three 6-8W warm-white LEDs provide sufficient light for a 12-15m² room. The one-piece glass shade lifts off for bulb changes without tools.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating makes the Hadley suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 — areas more than 600mm from a shower head or bath edge. It should not be installed directly above a shower or bathtub.

What bulbs does it take?

The fitting takes three E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, each up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with three 6-8W warm-white LED bulbs at 2700K-3000K for a soft ambient light suitable for bedrooms and bathrooms.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 140mm fitting height projects from the ceiling, so the base of the glass sits 140mm below the ceiling line. This works in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.2m upwards. In rooms with ceilings above 2.8m a semi-flush or pendant may provide better visual balance.

How is the glass shade removed for bulb changes?

The etched opal glass lifts off the bronze frame without tools. Twist gently anti-clockwise while supporting the glass weight, then lift away from the frame to access the bulb sockets.
