Description
The Knightsbridge GX53 5W LED bulb delivers 430 lumens of 5000K daylight white light through an opal diffuser. The GX53 twist-and-lock base fits flush lamp holders designed for under-cabinet lighting, surface-mounted downlights and utility task fixtures, making it a direct replacement for older GX53 halogens and CFLs.
Designed for kitchens, workshops, offices and utility spaces where clear neutral light supports detailed work, the 5000K output mimics natural midday daylight and provides high colour rendering (CRI >80) for accurate colour perception. The 120° beam angle gives even coverage without creating pools of light or dark corners in typical under-cabinet installations.
The 75mm disc measures just 26mm in height, allowing it to sit almost flush within compatible surface fittings. The polycarbonate and acrylic construction houses the LED array behind an opal diffuser that eliminates visible diodes and hotspots, producing a uniform wash of light. The bulb is non-dimmable and operates on standard 230V 50Hz mains, with an expected L70B50 lifespan of 50,000 hours (approximately 17 years at 8 hours daily use).

Frequently Asked
Is this bulb dimmable?
No. This is a non-dimmable LED bulb designed for standard on/off switching. Pairing it with a dimmer switch may cause flickering, reduced lifespan, or failure to light.
What colour temperature is 5000K?
5000K is classified as daylight white or cool white. It produces a neutral, slightly blue-toned light similar to natural midday sunlight, making it well-suited to task lighting where colour accuracy and clarity matter.
What fixtures does this fit?
The GX53 base fits flush-mounted lamp holders typically found in under-cabinet lights, surface-mounted downlights, and utility task fixtures. The twist-and-lock mechanism secures the bulb without requiring a screw thread.
How long does this bulb last?
The L70B50 rating of 50,000 hours means the bulb will maintain at least 70% of its initial output for 50,000 hours of use. At 8 hours per day, that equates to approximately 17 years of operation before noticeable dimming occurs.
