Description

The Guss is a 350mm wall light with a curved white acrylic diffuser wrapped by a polished chrome band that loops around both ends of the shade, giving a continuous sculptural line. The fitting includes an integrated rocker switch on the chrome backplate, allowing the light to be controlled directly at the wall without needing a separate wall switch. A single 15W warm white LED module sits behind the acrylic diffuser.

Designed for bedrooms, hallways, staircases and living rooms where bedside or passage lighting is needed without overhead fittings, the Guss provides ambient wash light across the wall surface. The 160mm projection from the wall allows the fitting to clear picture rails and coving while keeping the bulb housing clear of the mounting surface. The integrated switch makes it particularly useful as bedside lighting where reaching a pull-cord or wall switch would require leaving the bed.

The curved acrylic diffuser softens the 2700K warm white output evenly across its length, avoiding visible LED hotspots. The polished chrome finish reflects surrounding light and adds a metallic accent to the wall, contrasting with the matt white of the diffuser. At 0.7kg the fitting is light enough to be mounted on standard plasterboard walls using appropriate fixings without needing additional support.

Is the Guss dimmable?

No. The integrated LED module operates at fixed brightness and is not compatible with dimmer switches.

Can the bulb be replaced?

The fitting uses an integrated LED module rather than a replaceable bulb. The module is rated for the lifetime of the fitting (typically 20,000-30,000 hours). If the LED fails within the warranty period, contact Mantra or Niori for a replacement unit.

What height should it be mounted?

For bedside use, mount the centre of the fitting 900-1100mm above mattress height, allowing comfortable reach of the integrated switch while seated or lying in bed. For hallway or passage lighting, mount at standard light switch height (1200-1400mm from floor) or higher where it won't be knocked by passing traffic.

Does it need a wall switch or can the integrated switch control it fully?

The integrated rocker switch on the fitting controls the light directly, so a separate wall switch is not required. However, most installations will still wire through a standard wall switch to allow the circuit to be isolated when not in use for extended periods.
