Description

This is a compact round ceiling spotlight, 80mm across and shallow in the body, finished in a soft sand white that sits quietly against a pale ceiling. The LED is built in and runs at 7W, so there is no lamp to fit and nothing to replace later. Light comes through at a warm 3000K, the yellow-leaning white that suits living rooms and bedrooms, and it spreads broadly rather than drawing a tight circle on the floor. It switches on and off in the ordinary way and is not made for dimming.

We use fittings this size where a bigger spot would look heavy: a run along a kitchen ceiling, light over a worktop, a hallway, or shelving and alcoves that need picking out. The shallow body keeps it close to the ceiling line in rooms with little height to spare. It suits anyone building light up in layers instead of leaning on one central fitting, and it is one we would choose for a study or a landing where a pendant would only be in the way. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, clear of splashes and steam.

The sand white finish is matt, so it catches less glare than a polished face, and the driver comes with the fitting. To keep it looking well, switch off at the wall, let the body cool and wipe the face with a dry cloth; solvents and cream cleaners will dull the white. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the same spotlight in sand black, and in a cooler white for kitchens and workrooms where warm light feels too soft. The LED is integral, so the light output is fixed for the life of the fitting.

Can I use it in a bathroom or outside?

It is rated IP20, which means dry interiors only. For a shower area, a bathroom ceiling or anywhere exposed to weather you need a fitting with a higher protection rating.

Is there a cooler light option?

Yes. The same spotlight is made in a 4000K version giving 560 lumens, in both sand white and sand black, if you prefer a brighter, whiter light.
