Description

The Gotham is a 584mm diameter chandelier with four E27 bulb holders housed inside a cylindrical cream fabric drum shade, suspended on a brushed brass frame with four tapering support arms and an adjustable chain. The brass frame arches up from a circular ceiling canopy, descends through the centre of the shade, and connects to a lower brass ring that holds the shade in position. Small spherical glass accents sit on each support arm where it meets the lower ring.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and sitting rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.5m, the chandelier provides ambient and decorative light through the diffusing action of the cream shade. The 1219mm chain allows the drop to be adjusted from a minimum of 699mm (canopy to base of shade) to a maximum of 1918mm during installation. Over a dining table the chandelier typically sits 750-850mm above the surface, which works in rooms with 2.6m or higher ceilings.

The brushed brass finish has a satin sheen that softens reflections and pairs with warm-toned interiors, traditional settings and transitional schemes that mix classical metalwork with simpler fabric elements. The cream shade is a tightly-woven fabric that diffuses the light from the four bulbs into a soft, even glow rather than directing it downwards as a focused pool. Can the drop be adjusted after installation?

The drop is set during installation by shortening or lengthening the chain inside the canopy. Once installed, the drop is fixed unless you re-open the canopy to adjust the chain length.
