Description

The Gotham is a 584mm diameter chandelier built around a black fabric drum shade suspended from an imperial silver frame with curved arms and crystal glass ball accents. Four E27 bulb sockets sit inside the shade (bulbs sold separately), with light diffusing through the fabric to cast warm ambient glow downwards and outwards through the sides of the drum.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the chandelier's 699-1918mm adjustable drop allows it to be set 750-850mm above a dining surface or lower in rooms with taller ceilings. The polished imperial silver finish on the frame and canopy contrasts with the matt black fabric shade, creating a defined visual split between metalwork and diffuser. The curved support arms sweep up from the shade rim to meet at a central rod, with glass ball finials at each junction point catching and scattering light when the chandelier is lit.

The 610mm body height combined with the 584mm width gives the fitting a balanced cylindrical profile that works in rooms with floor areas of 12-20m² without dominating the ceiling plane. The black shade fabric is opaque enough to prevent glare but translucent enough to create a soft halo effect around the fitting when viewed from the side. The imperial silver metalwork pairs with both warm-toned wood furniture and cooler grey or white interiors, while the black shade grounds the fitting visually against darker ceiling tones.

Is the shade fabric removable for cleaning?

The black fabric drum shade is fixed to the metal frame. To clean, use a dry microfibre cloth or a vacuum with a soft brush attachment on low suction. Avoid damp cleaning as moisture can stain fabric shades.

Can this be fitted to a sloped ceiling?

The Gotham uses a chain suspension which naturally adjusts to sloped ceilings up to approximately 30 degrees. For steeper slopes, a sloped ceiling adapter may be required (sold separately).
