Description

Gosmelle is a small round LED downlight that sits neatly in the ceiling, with a black steel trim ring around a white plastic diffuser. It measures 8.6cm across and needs just 2.6cm of depth above the ceiling, so it suits shallow voids where a deeper downlight would not fit. The LED is integrated, drawing 2.7W for 330 lumens of warm white light at 3000K. It carries an IP44 rating, which means it is protected from splashing water, so it can go into a bathroom as well as a dry room; a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone.

We see it working best in runs of several across a hallway, a kitchen or a bathroom ceiling, where the black ring gives a crisp, graphic outline against white plaster and ties in with black frames, handles or taps. The warm 3000K light is gentle enough for evenings yet clear enough for shaving or putting on make-up at a mirror. Because each one is only 8.6cm across, a row of them lights a corridor or a wall of pictures without heavy hardware on show, and the shallow body makes them a sensible choice for flats and older homes with tight ceiling voids.
